Here are a few TMIDI tips and tricks written in the original Japanese manual,
translated to English:

1. You can quickly switch and compare different sound modules by using MIDI
   Port Mapping.

   You can assign shortcuts. For example, assign "Num 0" to "No Port Mapping",
   and "Num 1-4" to "Port Mapping 1-4".

   And then you can switch different mapping by simplely pressing "Num 1-4".

2. You can double-click on the "Part Level" LCD monitor at the lower-left
   corner of the screen to switch from dual-port to single-port view.

3. You can select the default target sound module to let TMIDI to display the
   proper names of the instruments.

   You can force TMIDI auto-detect the target sound module. TMIDI will then
   search for the keywords written in the MIDI file (or corresponding "DOC"
   file) to determine which sound module is used while playing the MIDI file.

   The auto-detected module will show a "*" mark in front of the module name.

4. You can set the source module currently in use to active the "Emulating"
   function.

   TMIDI will then emulate the target module based on what you set for the
   source module.

   For example, the SC-33 lacks the MT-32/CM-64 bank (CC00=127/126). If a MIDI
   file composed with these SC-55 banks, TMIDI will change the SC-33 bank to
   emulate the SC-55's MT-32/CM-64 bank by using the proper patch-mapping.

5. By single-clicking or double-clicking the left or right mouse button on the
   screen's main panel, you can change or switch a lot of MIDI controllers
   while playing.

   Such as: BPM, Transpose, Channel Mute (left-click)/Solo (double-click)/All
   (right-click), Instrument/Bank/Map, Volume, Expression,
   Reverb/Chorus/Variation Send, Panpot, Pitch Bend, Modulation,
   Sustain/Sosutenuto/Soft Pedal, Vibrato/Filter/Envelope/EQ (click on the
   greyed-out "NRPN" in the upper-right corner of the screen, to switch the
   panel to the NRPN/Controller editor).

   Click and hold the left mouse button, and click the right mouse button (or
   clikc and hold the right mouse button, and click the left mouse button) to
   speed up the changing of the parameter values.
